Una National Park

Map of Una National Park

The Una National Park (NP) is located in western BiH in the municipality of Bihać. It covers the area upstream from the village of Lohovo, including the Una River Canyon in the river's upper course, and the area between the Unac River to one side, and the Una and Krka to the other side, upstream from the village of Martin Brod. The park was founded in 2008 and has a total area of 19,800 ha. Una NP offers excellent conditions for an active vacation in nature, including fishing on the Una (4) and Unac (3) Rivers, water sports, rafting, hiking, and mountain biking in the surrounding mountains of Osječnica and Klekovača (www.nationalpark-una.ba).

Park visitors usually travel from Bihać (6) via the village of Orašac, which is located about 32 km southeast of Bihać. From Orašac, an unpaved road leads to Štrbački Buk (4), which is made up of multiple waterfalls - the most impressive of which is the first, with a height of 24 m. The Štrbački Buk Waterfalls are the symbol of the Una NP. After seeing the waterfalls, park visitors can continue on with a visit to the villages of Kulen Vakuf (1) and Martin Brod (2). Upon returning to Bihać, it's possible to follow the same road or the somewhat longer but more attractive road via Drvar, Oštrelj, and Bosanski Petrovac (7). The most popular activity in the park is an adrenaline-filled rafting adventure between Štrbački Buk and Lohovo (5).
