Amel SALIHBASIC was born in Sarajevo. He graduated in Computer Technology from the Technical University of Sarajevo. Since completing his studies, he has been working in the fields of data processing, business intelligence, and data warehousing.
He became interested in photography as a result of his love for traveling. From the desire that others get to know the nicer side of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he decided to publish a book dedicated to the beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The greatest satisfaction for him is to get confirmation that someone, with the aid of this book, decided to spend or to extend his/her vacation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that there are many of them.
The book, "Come, Enjoy, Pass It On BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA 30 Unforgettable Days" is an interesting blend of a travel guide and a photo book. Currently, it is the most comprehensive and for many the most beautiful book about Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is confirmed by numerous recommendations of tourist workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well by readers on Amazon portals.
The book describes 150 most interesting sites that can be visited in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The book is divided into 30 chapters, 2 of which are dedicated to the cities of Mostar and Sarajevo, and the remaining 28 to other areas throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the beginning of each chapter there is a map of that area, and a brief description of tourist attractions and activities. On the pages that follow, every single site/attraction is described in depth with a variety of photos and useful text information for visitors. Overall, the book contains descriptions of 33 city, 10 old towns, 22 rivers, 8 waterfalls, 10 lakes, 12 mountains, 17 outdoor activities, 40 tourist sites and destinations and 10 stecak necropoles. The book does neither contain advertising of companies, recommendations for hotels or restaurants, nor this is contain timetables of public transport.
This travel guide/photo book is an ideal source of necessary information for those who want to know more about the natural and cultural diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, this book is an ideal gift for friends and business partners to whom you want to show the beauty that adorns this small country in the Balkans. Quality books are recognized by many readers on Amazon.de; this book has the best ratings and recommendations of all books related to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a small country, but it offers a lot (great deals): from enjoying its clear and capricious rivers, which are perfect for rafting and fishing, its large mountains that attract hikers and skiers, and its numerous caves, to visiting the country’s cities with their many cultural and historical landmarks left behind by the Illyrians, Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, Austro-Hungarians, and multiple Slavic cultures. Bosnia and Herzegovina also boasts a rich cultural and social life.
Unique tourist offers of Bosnia and Herzegovina were recently recognized by numerous portals and bloggers who put this country among the top destinations to be visited in this year.
The idea for the book came quite by accident. Fascinated by the beauty of the country, I was regularly spending my holidays in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visiting known and unknown tourist destinations. I have created a photo album in book format containing a selection of the best photographs taken until the year 2010. The album has attracted much attention, primarily due to the beautiful pictures of nature. Driven by my desire to show others the good side of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I have decided to embark on the adventure of publication of the book by myself.
Already in the following year, I used my whole vacation to visit additional destinations and publish my first book noncommercial character named "23 unforgettable days in Bosnia and Herzegovina". The book was bilingual in English and Bosnian and it was a great/good business card for further cooperation with many tourist workers throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was the motivation for me, with better photo equipment, to check additional tourist destinations and to complete text descriptions, all with the aim to give the reader enough information in advance to gain a picture of the total tourist offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In May 2014, the first edition of the book "Come, Enjoy, Pass It On BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA" was published in four languages: English, German, Bosnian and Turkish. The book was very well received from the start, primarily by tourists visiting Bosnia and from Bosnians who live all around the world. The book was soon found on the shelves of more bookstores in the center of Vienna, and thanks to its quality and originality, quickly included in the assortment of one large German distributor of books. This resulted in the book being offered by Amazon portals in Europe, in America and in Japan, all major bookstores in German-speaking countries, as well as numerous online portals.
After less than 12 months, in mid-2015, the publication of the second edition in German and Bosnian language, as well as of the first edition in Italian language took place.
For me, as author and publisher, this is a huge success. Of course, behind all this there is huge effort and a lot of invested hours of work: At first when choosing the destinations, then visiting and photographing them, writing text, choosing the best photos, sorting, creating layout, drawing accompanying maps, designing web pages, working on promotion, and much more.
