Bosnia and Herzegovina is also a Mediterranean country, with limited but direct access to the Adriatic Sea. Access to the sea can be found around the town of Neum (2), and includes the Klek Peninsula.
The easiest way to reach Neum through BiH is via Čapljina (approx. 40 km). This narrow and winding road leads through Neum's hinterland villages of Svitava, Hrasno, and Hutovo. An alternative route from Stolac is narrower still, and not completely paved.
Visitors should spend time swimming in the Adriatic Sea and sunbathing on Neum's beaches. Those looking for an escape from the sea can visit Neum's hinterland (1) or the Hutovo Blato Park (3).
